How we're funded: advertising and independence disclosure

In short

Right now Veteran Trade Schools has no advertisers, paid listings or affiliate partners. No one can pay to change VA data, caution flags, which programs we list or the order they appear in. We don't rank schools.

How listings are chosen and ordered

We list every VA-approved program that matches a trade. Lists are sorted by state, city and name, or by distance if you ask. We never call a school "best" or "top". Methodology.

What no one can pay for

Ways we may earn money, and how each is labeled

TypeStatusWhere it can appearHow it's labeled
Featured program (paid listing)Not activeTrade and state directory pages, in a box set apart from the VA data list"Featured program (paid listing)". Flat fee only, never per enrollment, lead or click. The program must be VA-approved.
Certification prep linksNot active"Does the GI Bill® cover..." guides, in a box labeled "Certification prep"Commissioned links are marked "affiliate" and tagged rel="sponsored".
Display advertisingNot activeLong guide pages only"Advertisement". Never on the units and transition offices page, the printable flyer and handouts, Methodology or Link to us.

Why the flat fee: federal law bars schools approved for the GI Bill from paying commissions, bonuses or other incentive payments based on enrollments (38 U.S.C. § 3696). We won't accept payment tied to enrollments, leads or applications.

We'll update this page before any of these goes live.
